A mate, Paul, let me hear one of his instrumental guitar pieces back at the start of the year. I instantly heard in it the possibility of a referendum remix – something to hopefully inspire others to reach a courageous Yes vote in September 2014.
I approached both Tommy Sheridan and Colin McQuillen of Two Thumbs Fresh TV for permission to use audio excerpts from Tommy’s bold Kirkcaldy speech. Both gave their blessing so we were good to go. Two days later, the remix was complete, we then approached another friend, Steve, to help provide the visual element.
Paul, Steve and I all agreed the referendum is too big a day in Scotland’s history not to get involved. This is our contribution.

Guitar sample: ‘The West is Best’
Written and performed by Paul Winter
(Sound Engineer: John Lawson).

Remixed by The Amalfi Glow (Ritchie Feenie).
